Intrasheets 6
Intrasheets is now a library. One call puts a complete Excel-like application in any page: ribbon, formula bar, sheet tabs, an AI assistant and real-time collaboration, sized and wired by your application.

Introducing
Intrasheets started as an application: a private, collaborative alternative to online spreadsheets, built on Jspreadsheet and its server. Version 6 rebuilds it on Jspreadsheet 13 and turns it inside out. The whole application is now the intrasheets package, and the page that used to be the product is a thin bootstrap on top of it.
That changes who can use it. A product team that needs spreadsheets inside its own software no longer builds a spreadsheet application around a data grid: it embeds one, connects it to its own server and its own users, and keeps control of the data.
What is in the box?
Everything a spreadsheet user expects, built on the published Jspreadsheet extensions:
- Ribbon with Home, Insert, Formulas, Data, Review and View tabs: fonts, borders, alignment, number formats, cell styles, conditional formatting, tables, sorting and filters.
- Formula bar with the name box, function suggestions and an insert function dialog over the 500+ functions of Formula Pro.
- Charts, shapes, pictures and pivot tables, comments and notes, find and replace, data validation.
- Backstage to create, open and manage workbooks, with XLSX import and export, CSV import and Google Sheets import.
- Sheet tabs and a status bar with sum, average and count of the selection, and zoom.
- An AI assistant that reads and edits the open workbook through the server agent.
One call
The package ships a self-contained build for a script tag and an ES module for bundlers.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/intrasheets/dist/style.css" />
<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/intrasheets/dist/index.min.js"></script>
<div id="root"></div>
<script>
intrasheets({
license: 'your-license',
client: { url: 'https://sheets.example.com', token: userToken },
});
intrasheets.load(document.getElementById('root'), {
guid: documentId,
width: 1200,
height: 800,
});
</script>
intrasheets() configures the library once: the Jspreadsheet license, the server and the user's token, and optionally Google credentials for the Sheets import. intrasheets.load() renders one document; intrasheets.list() renders the user's document list.
Yours to shape
The application is the host. Intrasheets takes the decisions that belong to it from options instead of assuming a page of its own:
- Size.
widthandheightplace the shell in a box of any size; without them it fills the container the page gives it. Menus and dialogs float over the page, and the backstage stays inside the box. - Events. Every
on<event>option ofloadis a Jspreadsheet event handler, called after the shell's own handler, so the host follows edits, selections and worksheet changes without touching the shell. - Navigation.
onopen(guid)receives the document a user creates or picks from a list; the host decides whether that is a route change, a new tab or a modal. - Identity. The token comes from your login. The server checks it on every request, so permissions stay where your users live.
const worksheets = await intrasheets.load(el, {
guid: documentId,
height: '100vh',
onchange: function(worksheet, cell, x, y, value) {
audit.log(worksheet.getCellNameFromCoords(x, y), value);
},
});
Collaboration and AI, from the server
Every document is a Jspreadsheet Server document. The server holds the live copy, applies every edit as an ordered operation and broadcasts it, so two people on the same workbook see each other's changes as they type. Persistence goes through your own adapter, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis or your own, and access through your own authentication hooks.
The AI assistant uses the same channel. A prompt goes to the server agent, which reads the live workbook and edits it with spreadsheet tools; those edits are ordinary operations, so every collaborator sees them land, and they persist like any other change.
Try it
- The Intrasheets demo is a 1200 by 800 workbook shared with every visitor: open it in two windows.
- github.com/intrasheets/demo is a complete reference application: React, the server and MongoDB in Docker, built only from published npm packages, with instructions for people and for AI coding agents.
