The PERCENTILE.INC
function in Jspreadsheet Formulas Pro is a helpful tool used to determine the k-th percentile of values within a specified range. The value of k can range between 0 and 1, inclusive. This means if you want to find the 90th percentile, you would use k=0.90. This function helps to understand the distribution of data in a given range by providing the value below which a given percentage falls.

Behavior
The PERCENTILE.INC
function calculates the kth percentile of values in a range, where k is in the range 0..1, inclusive. If the array or reference contains no numbers, PERCENTILE.INC
returns the #NUM! error value.
- If the array contains empty cells, those are ignored.
- If the array contains text, those cells are ignored.
- If the array contains booleans, they are treated as 1s (for TRUE) and 0s (for FALSE).
- If k is nonnumeric,
PERCENTILE.INC
returns the #VALUE! error value. - If k is less than 0 or if it is more than 1,
PERCENTILE.INC
returns the #NUM! error value.
Common Errors

Best practices
- Always ensure that the array or reference you provide to
PERCENTILE.INC
contains numeric values. If it contains text, errors, or simply empty cells, it might not provide the expected results.- The value of k should always be between 0 and 1 (inclusive). Ensure that the k value you provide is within this range to avoid #NUM! errors.
- Understand that

considers TRUE as 1 and FALSE as 0 when dealing with Boolean values.- Remember that
